Afghanistan: Sustainable Development of Natural Resources Project

WASHINGTON, June 20, 2006-The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

 

IDA GRANT:   US$30 million

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The main objective of this project is to assist the Government of Afghanistan effectively regulate the country’s mineral and hydrocarbon resources and foster private sector development in a transparent manner.
