These GDLN policy dialogues are the sixth and seventh in a series of regional dissemination of lessons and best practices in key dimensions of the investment climate. These dialogues were aimed at the Balkan countries and European Union candidate countries and focused on strengthening commercial law frameworks with a particular emphasis on insolvency and creditor rights systems. 

The video conference brought together policy makers, practitioners and stakeholders including government officials and representatives from the private sector and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and academics and policy researchers to discuss how best to initiate reforms. The March 22, 2005 session included Ankara, Istanbul and Sophia and the March 23, 2005 session included Belgrade and Skopge.  Bratislava and Washington, D.C. participated in both sessions.
